FRSC promotes 7,472 personnel amid push to improve road safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has recently announced the promotion of 7,472 personnel, including 2,134 officers and 5,338 marshals, as part of their ongoing commitment to enhance road safety throughout Nigeria. The announcement was made via the FRSC's official X page, with Public Education Officer Osondu Ohaeri detailing the promotion on August 26-28, 2026.

At the heart of this initiative is the aim to bolster professionalism, leadership, and road safety operations across the country. Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed emphasized that this promotion is not only a reward but also a responsibility that the personnel must take seriously. He stressed that every new rank must translate into higher levels of professionalism, accountability, leadership, and service delivery.

Mohammed highlighted that the strength of the FRSC is not just measured by its patrol vehicles, technology, or enforcement architecture, but rather by the quality, character, and commitment of its personnel. He urged the newly promoted officers and marshals to live up to the trust placed in them, to do more, lead better, and serve with greater distinction. He also underscored the importance of maintaining discipline in all aspects of life, treating the public with dignity, and upholding the Corps' integrity.

This promotion comes as the FRSC intensifies its efforts in operational, technological, and public enlightenment initiatives to curb road traffic crashes and improve compliance with traffic regulations across the nation.
