FRSC promotes 7,472 personnel nationwide

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the promotion of 7,472 personnel across Nigeria. This includes 2,134 officers and 5,338 marshals, as part of an initiative to enhance professionalism, leadership, and road safety operations nationwide. The promotions are aimed at recognizing the dedication, competence, discipline, and years of service of those who have excelled in their roles.

Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, announced the promotion on Friday, directing department heads, officers, heads of special units, and commanding officers to decorate the promoted personnel from August 26 to 28, 2026. Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, emphasized that the promotion is a reward and a responsibility, urging the beneficiaries to uphold higher standards of professionalism, accountability, and service delivery.

Mohammed highlighted that the strength of the FRSC is fundamentally rooted in the quality, character, and commitment of its personnel, not just its resources like patrol vehicles, technology, and enforcement structures. He charged the newly promoted officers and marshals to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, promising increased expectations from the corps, the federal government, and the Nigerian people.

The promotion coincides with the FRSC's ongoing efforts to reduce road traffic crashes and improve compliance with traffic regulations through intensified operations, technological advancements, and public enlightenment campaigns. Mohammed urged the promoted personnel to maintain discipline, treat the public with dignity, and uphold the integrity of the corps, stressing that rank is earned, entrusted, and measured by service.
