Teen, mother charged in killing of his girlfriend

Royce and Rachel Moser, a teenage boy and his mother, are currently facing multiple charges in connection with the alleged killing of Karoline Heintz, a college student. Karoline's body was discovered in her Jeep Cherokee on Thursday, located in the rear hatch area, with noticeable blood splatter both inside and outside the vehicle.

According to prosecutors, Karoline met with her boyfriend outside his father's residence on Thursday night, where he reportedly became angry, retrieved a large kitchen knife, and stabbed Karoline in the chest. After the attack, Royce Moser allegedly placed Karoline in the rear hatch of the Jeep and drove to his mother's residence.

Rachel Moser allegedly assisted her son by cleaning the vehicle, providing him with latex gloves, and telling him to take a bath and shower after returning. Surveillance footage captured Royce driving the victim's vehicle near where she was found, and his mother's vehicle was also seen following the victim's car. Both Royce and Rachel Moser were taken into police custody after being found at Karoline's residence.
