Everllence’s 175D Engine Wins Offshore Tug Order from Türkiye

Everllence has secured a major contract to supply 16 × 175D gensets to Turkish shipbuilder for 4 × Rampage 6000-DE offshore terminal tugs. These vessels will be operated by Smit Lamnalco, a Boskalis company, in Guyana, South America to support an FPSO fleet in the Stabroek Block. The tugs will be used for towing, safety, logistics, dynamic positioning and maintenance functions to aid large-scale deepwater oil production.

Each of the four shipsets includes four engines, two 12V175D-MEL (2,280 kW) and two 16V175D-MEM (2,560 kW) engines. The first shipset is due to be delivered by the end of 2026, with the remaining sets following in 2027. Jamie Stewart, Group Tender Manager for Smit Lamnalco, stated that Everllence was chosen for the project due to its reliability, strong technical support, efficient fuel-and-lube-oil consumption, and competitive cost.

The combination of 12- and 16-cylinder high-speed 175D engines will give the diesel-electric vessels flexibility to operate fuel-efficiently across various modes and provide commonality of equipment and spares, reducing inventory costs. Ruben Fernandez, Head of High-Speed at Everllence, expressed pleasure at securing the order, highlighting the engine's efficiency, performance, and attractive lifecycle costs.
