British rapper Yung Filly to face retrial on rape charges in Australia

British rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, will face a retrial on three rape charges in Australia, following an earlier court decision. The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred in 2024, after he performed at a nightclub in Perth. The YouTuber, who is known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad, denied all 10 charges and was found not guilty on three counts of rape, one assault charge, and one charge of strangulation.

He was found guilty of two counts of assault, which will be addressed following his retrial. The alleged victim, who was 20 years old at the time, claimed Barrientos turned violent and ignored her pleas to stop after initially consensual sex in his hotel room. Prosecutors have stated that the complainant is willing to testify again in the retrial.

The prosecution alleged Barrientos exhibited entitled behavior due to his fame, while his defense argued that the accuser's account contained inconsistencies, embellishments, and outright lies. Barrientos, born in Colombia and raised in the UK, has gained recognition for his work with Beta Squad, appearing on the Channel 4's celebrity version of Bake Off and presenting BBC Three shows.
