British rapper Yung Filly to face retrial on rape charges in Australia

British rapper Yung Filly, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, will face retrial on three rape charges in Australia after a jury found him not guilty on three counts but could not reach a decision on the remaining seven allegations. The charges stem from an incident at a nightclub in Perth in 2024, where Barrientos was accused of repeatedly raping and assaulting a fan.

He denied all 10 charges and was acquitted of two assault charges, including strangulation. The woman involved was 20 years old at the time of the alleged incident. Barrientos had been touring in Australia when the allegations emerged. During the trial, prosecutor Danielle Clarke described Barrientos as an "entitled" man with a "moderate degree of fame" who violated the fan in the "most intrusive way possible."

His defense lawyer claimed the accuser's evidence contained "inconsistencies, embellishments and outright lies." The prosecution has stated that the complainant is willing to give evidence again during the retrial, which has not yet been scheduled. Barrientos, who is known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and appearances on TV shows like Bake Off and BBC Three, will face sentencing for the two guilty charges following the retrial.
