Abu Dhabi closes parks and beaches until further notice over unstable weather

Abu Dhabi has suspended all public parks, recreational facilities and municipal beaches until further notice due to expected unstable weather conditions. The emirate's City Municipality announced the precautionary measure on Friday via its Instagram account, stating that all events at the affected facilities have also been suspended.

The closures serve as a protective measure for the public as forecasters predict changing weather patterns. This is the first time the closure has been implemented this summer. The UAE is bracing for unsettled weather, with forecasts suggesting the possibility of convective clouds and rainfall in certain regions. Rain has already hit parts of the country, with showers sweeping through Al Ain and light drizzle falling in Fujairah.

The unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue over the following days, with convective clouds potentially forming again over eastern and southern areas on Saturday afternoon, accompanied by a chance of rainfall. Temperatures are also anticipated to gradually increase. Additional cloud development is forecast over eastern regions on Sunday, with the potential for afternoon convection to return on Monday.

Fog or mist may form over some coastal areas early on Tuesday, while eastern regions could experience another chance of convective clouds and rainfall later in the day. The municipality has not specified when the parks, beaches, and recreational facilities will reopen, indicating that the closures will remain in place until further notice.
