2027: Wike predicts bigger rainbow coalition for Tinubu

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has predicted the formation of a larger "rainbow coalition" to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election. Wike made this statement during an inspection exercise in Abuja, referencing the recent visit of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Adeleke's participation in the Accord Party platform during the Osun governorship election, held on August 15, was due to internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Wike clarified that despite Adeleke's contest on the Accord platform, he remains deeply connected to the PDP structure and is now fully aligned with Tinubu in preparation for the 2027 presidential election.

According to Wike, political figures from various parties are increasingly aligning behind Tinubu under this expanding coalition. Adeleke, who won on the Accord Party platform, will work with the Federal Government, and Wike emphasized that the opposition parties' internal crises have weakened their capability to challenge Tinubu in 2027.

Wike expressed no concern over the discomfort caused to political opponents and hinted at further realignments in the coming weeks. He stated that the coalition would continue to attract political figures from diverse parties and regions, asserting that the outcome of the 2027 presidential election is already leaning towards Tinubu.
