Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs meets Egyptian Foreign Minister

His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani held talks with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. The duo discussed the strengthening of bilateral ties, economic collaboration, consular and labor cooperation, and regional issues during the seventh session of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee in Cairo.

Both countries expressed their dedication to maintaining and improving their relationship, noting the 80 percent growth in trade exchange between them in 2025. They also highlighted the commencement of a sustainable aviation fuel production project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, a joint initiative with direct Qatari investment.

Addressing regional matters, the ministers condemned Israel's rejection of a roadmap for ending the conflict in Gaza and its stance against a Palestinian state. They emphasized the importance of diplomatic solutions to disputes and stressed the necessity of ensuring maritime security and freedom of navigation in the Arabian Gulf, Red Sea, and other vital routes.

The ministers also reaffirmed their support for Lebanon's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and requested Israeli forces to withdraw from Lebanese territory. Concerning Sudan, they expressed solidarity with its unity, sovereignty, and national institutions, while raising concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation. Lastly, they agreed to maintain close coordination and consultation to capitalize on the rising momentum in bilateral relations, benefiting both nations and their populations.
