Prime Minister meets Egyptian Foreign Minister

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, conversed with Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, at the seventh joint session of the Higher Committee in Cairo. They discussed strengthening bilateral ties, supporting mutual growth, and improving coordination across various sectors.

Both sides expressed unity in developing relations, citing a 80 percent increase in trade exchange and rising Qatari investments in Egypt, including a new sustainable aviation fuel project in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. They also highlighted efforts in consular and labor cooperation, and addressed regional concerns, including the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, emphasizing condemnation of Israel's stance and the importance of diplomatic conflict resolution.

Both reaffirmed their commitment to security and stability in the region, particularly in maritime navigation, and stressed support for Lebanon's sovereignty and unity, urging withdrawal of Israeli forces and backing of Lebanese institutions. They also called for respect for regional sovereignty in the Horn of Africa, opposing unilateral actions that could jeopardize peace and international law. In conclusion, they agreed to maintain close coordination and capitalize on the positive trajectory in relations.
