Preparations at Shifa International Hospital finalised for possible arrival of PTI founder Imran Khan: sources

Islamabad has finalized preparations at Shifa International Hospital for the possible arrival of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, reported sources. Imran, currently incarcerated at Adiala jail for the £190 million corruption case, has seen his health deteriorate during his 14-year sentence. Sources indicated that security and other preparations are complete, with police, jail officials, and Rangers at the hospital to handle the possible transfer.

The exact timing of Imran's transfer remains uncertain, but arrangements are being made to prepare for any situation. The Supreme Court ordered the government to transfer Imran to Shifa within two days, following petitions from his supporters. The court emphasized the state's constitutional duty to ensure humane treatment and necessary medical care for prisoners.

Imran's sisters visited him in jail, discussing his health and other matters. Meanwhile, the government has appealed to the court to review and recall its order to transfer Imran to the hospital.
