Developer withdraws Kota Damansara data centre application after public raises concerns, says Ramanan

PETALING JAYA, Aug 20 — The Kota Damansara data centre project has been withdrawn by the developer following public concerns, according to a statement from Petaling Jaya City Council. Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament, Datuk Seri R. Ramanan, reported the development to Bernama, emphasizing that residents' voices can lead to positive outcomes when raised through appropriate channels.

Ramanan, who is also the Human Resources Minister, reiterated his previous stance that he is not opposed to development or investment, but large-scale projects that may impact residents should have community input. In July, he had criticized the project for lacking proper engagement with Kota Damansara residents, advocating for transparency, responsibility, and local community involvement in any large-scale development.

Ramanan reiterated his commitment to protect the welfare of Kota Damansara residents and ensure their interests are safeguarded.
