ABVP-Left students’ group clash at Kolkata’s Jadavpur University meeting

At Jadavpur University in Kolkata, tensions erupted late Wednesday night during a general body (GB) meeting between two student groups. The altercation began with a disagreement between members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and students from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Students’ Union (FETSU). This disagreement soon escalated into a violent confrontation, with both sides claiming significant injuries among their ranks.

FETSU asserted that ABVP members were surrounded and physically confronted during the GB meeting, while ABVP accused FETSU of provoking the situation by making inflammatory comments and attempting to attack them. The clash left several students injured, some of whom reportedly required medical attention.
