2027: Osun already in bag for Tinubu – Bashir Ahmad

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu already enjoys the support of Osun State in the 2027 general elections. Ahmad made this assertion in a recent post on his verified X account. This came following Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke's visit to Tinubu along with other members of the state chapter of the Accord Party, where they presented him with the Certificate of Return.

Ahmad commented, "President Bola Tinubu has Osun on both sides, with the ruling party and the main opposition both firmly within his political orbit. For President Tinubu, Osun is already in the bag. The political dynamics in the state have already pointed in one direction, the Renewed Hope and victory in 2027." The Daily Post reports that Adeleke won the August 15, 2026 governorship election, securing 511,067 votes compared to Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who garnered 444,815 votes. Najeem Salaam of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, came in third with 17,180 votes.
