QC seeks to strengthen trade ties with Kazakhstan

Qatar and Kazakhstan have held discussions to bolster their economic and trade ties, with the Qatar Chamber's Acting General Manager Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori meeting with Kazakhstan's ambassador Bakhyt Batyrshayev on Wednesday. The meeting, attended by Olzhas Sadykov, Counsellor at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Qatar, centered on existing economic relations, potential expansion of cooperation, and investment opportunities.

Al Mansori highlighted the strong relationship between Qatar and Kazakhstan, noting that they have signed several agreements across various fields. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Qatari and Kazakh private sectors, particularly through increased business-to-business engagement and the exchange of trade and investment delegations.

He praised Qatar's attractive investment environment, which offers significant opportunities for partnerships between Qatari and Kazakh companies in diverse sectors.

Ambassador Batyrshayev expressed appreciation for the robust and growing relationship between Kazakhstan and Qatar, providing an overview of Kazakhstan's key economic features and investment prospects, particularly in infrastructure, transport, services, tourism, and mining. He highlighted the presence and impact of Qatari companies and investments in Kazakhstan, particularly in construction, banking, and energy sectors, indicating a rising economic engagement between the two nations.

Both sides stressed the significance of activating the Qatar-Kazakhstan Joint Business Council as a vital platform for enhancing private-sector collaboration and fostering business connections between companies from both nations. They also emphasized the need for reciprocal business visits and greater participation in trade fairs, exhibitions, and economic events in both countries.

The meeting underscored the mutual desire to expand private-sector partnerships and establish new channels for trade and investment cooperation, with both sides expressing willingness to support initiatives that bring the business communities of Qatar and Kazakhstan closer together.
