Damen Folla delivers new workboat for aquaculture: SeV1508 – Folla Power to Mowi Norway

Damen Folla has transferred a new workboat for aquaculture, the Service Vessel 1508 (SeV 1508), to Mowi Norway during the Nor-Fishing event in Trondheim on August 19th. This marks the final delivery under a framework agreement for seven vessels that was signed with Nova Sea, a company that was later acquired by Mowi in 2025 and integrated into Mowi Norway’s Northern Region.

The agreement was intended to replace older vessels with more efficient ones, aligning with Mowi's commitment to sustainable salmon farming. Ulf Pedersen, Technical Coordinator at Mowi Norway’s Northern Region, expressed appreciation for the close and productive partnership with Damen Folla, noting that their products are custom-designed to meet the company’s specific needs.

The SeV 1508 is a single-hull aluminum vessel measuring 14.9 meters in length and 8 meters in width, featuring a hybrid-electric propulsion system. This system includes 444 kilowatt-hours of battery capacity, a generator, and electric thrusters, enabling quiet, reliable operations with minimal emissions, which is advantageous for both the crew and marine life.

Otto Sjølien, CEO of Damen Folla, expressed satisfaction with the delivery, stating that it is a significant milestone as it completes the final delivery under the framework agreement for seven vessels. The company values the long and successful partnership with Mowi, and they hope to continue their collaboration in the future.
