Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee holds Seventh Session's Preparatory Meeting

On Wednesday, senior officials from Qatar and Egypt convened for a preparatory meeting of the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee in its seventh session. The meeting took place in El-Alamein, Egypt, and was attended by numerous representatives from various ministries and relevant authorities in both nations. The delegation from Qatar was headed by Nayef Al Emadi, Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Ihab Fahmy, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Arab Affairs, led the Egyptian delegation.

The discussions focused on the advancements in bilateral cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, the Qatari and Egyptian sides acknowledged the progress made in areas such as economic, investment, and trade relations. They particularly highlighted the significance of the launch of the first phase of the Alam El Roum project.

Moreover, both sides welcomed the decision to initiate the first round of negotiations on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the countries in October, which will foster economic integration and serve the interests of the two nations.

The meeting also praised the regularity of the Higher Committee's meetings, the strong coordination and continuous consultation between the two countries on regional and international matters, and their joint efforts to de-escalate tensions and achieve stability and sustainable peace in the region.
