Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee holds seventh session's preparatory meeting

El-Alamein, Egypt saw a preparatory meeting held on Wednesday by senior officials for the Qatari-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee's seventh session. The event was set to take place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, and involved numerous representatives from ministries and authorities in both nations.

Qatar's delegation, led by Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nayef Al Emadi, convened alongside Egypt's delegation, overseen by Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Arab Affairs Ihab Fahmy.

During the gathering, both parties reviewed the advancements in bilateral cooperation and documents set for signing during the committee's proceedings, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani and Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad of Egypt.

The two nations praised the evolving Qatari-Egyptian relations in diverse sectors like economics, investment, and trade, especially following the commencement of the first phase of the "Alam El Roum" project. They also welcomed the decision to initiate the initial round of talks on a comprehensive economic partnership agreement between the countries in October, which would foster economic integration and serve the interests of both peoples.

The committee's regular meetings, close coordination, and ongoing consultations on regional and international matters were also commended, as well as the collective efforts to ease tensions and promote stability and lasting peace in the region.
