Nedeljkovic joins Rangers from Aston Villa

Kosta Nedeljkovic, a 20-year-old Serbian defender, has agreed to join Rangers on a season-long loan from Aston Villa. The Glasgow club has the option to purchase the player at the end of the season. Nedeljkovic moved to Aston Villa from Red Star Belgrade the previous summer after signing with the English side in January 2024. He has spent time on loan with RB Leipzig during that period.

Speaking highly of the young full-back, Rangers manager Derek McInnes praised his athletic abilities, work rate, and desire to contribute both defensively and offensively. Despite facing challenges with injuries during his time in Germany last season, Nedeljkovic collected valuable experience at a top level. Prior to his loan spells, the defender had made 10 appearances for Villa in all competitions.

This is the 11th summer signing for Rangers, joining midfielder Vanja Dragojevic, one of three players deployed at right-back for the team. The young defender expressed his excitement about joining the Ibrox club, emphasizing the opportunity and responsibility that comes with it.
