Dexter and the Moonrocks Announce New Album Friends That I Don’t Like, Reveal “It’s A Lot”: Stream

Dexter and the Moonrocks have unveiled their debut album, Friends That I Don't Like, set for release on October 2nd. The band, comprising four Texan members, shared the single "It's A Lot" alongside the album announcement. The quartet, famous for their viral grunge track "Freakin' Out," draws inspiration from their Southern roots to create a unique sound they have dubbed "Western Space Grunge."

In a statement, drummer Ryan Fox admits that their music style has often been misunderstood, with fans and critics alike struggling to place them within a specific genre. However, the band is proud of their raw, unapologetic approach, stating that "It's A Lot" embodies their love for their home state and the things they wish to change about themselves.

Guitarist Ryan Anderson adds that the song reflects the challenges faced by young people in making the most of life-changing moments, despite the hurdles. The band will support their new album with a series of tour dates through December, culminating with performances at several high-profile festivals in the United States and Australia.
