Boakye Agyarko vows to rebuild NPP into a winning force ahead of 2028

Boakye Agyarko, the former Energy Minister, has made a commitment to revamp the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and place it in a position to reclaim political influence during the upcoming 2028 general elections should he be chosen as the party's National Chairman. This pledge came following the submission of his nomination forms by an assembly of NPP constituency chairpersons, who had obtained and selected the forms on his behalf.

Led by former Ayawaso West Wuogon Member of Parliament Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the delegation expressed their support for Agyarko's candidacy, recognizing the confidence they have in his capacity to assist the party in recovering from its recent electoral challenges.

Agyarko acknowledged the NPP's recent setback but maintained that the party is still capable of staging a significant comeback. He assured the broader NPP community that despite its decline, the party is not defeated and would rise again through dedication and determination. His vision for the chairmanship involves rebuilding the party's structures and rebranding the NPP as a disciplined and efficient electoral organization.

This restructured party would serve as a robust platform for the party's 2028 flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to mount a successful campaign aimed at regaining the presidency. Agyarko emphasized that his role as chairman is to guide the rebuilding and rebranding of the party, ensuring Dr Bawumia stands firmly and triumphs in the 2028 election.
