Boakye Agyarko targets NPP revival ahead of 2028 elections

Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko has announced his intention to spearhead the reconstruction and rebranding of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with the aim of reclaiming power at the 2028 general elections. This pledge was made following the submission of his nomination forms by a group of NPP constituency chairpersons, who took the initiative to purchase and present the forms on his behalf. These forms were formally presented by Lydia Seyram Alhassan, a former Ayawaso West Wuogon Member of Parliament.

Mr Agyarko expressed profound gratitude towards the constituency chairpersons and other supporters who have demonstrated faith in his capacity to rejuvenate the party. He acknowledged the recent electoral setbacks the NPP has faced, but remained optimistic about the party's ability to rebound. "The NPP may have faltered, but we are not defeated. With dedication and commitment, we will rise again," he declared.

A key focus of Mr Agyarko's vision for the chairmanship is to rebuild the party's organizational framework and rebrand the NPP as a disciplined and effective electoral machine. This, he believes, will serve as the solid foundation for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the current NPP flagbearer, to mount a successful campaign in the 2028 presidential elections.

"As a chairman, my mission is to rebuild and rebrand the party into a robust electoral unit upon which Dr Mahamudu Bawumia can confidently pursue victory in the 2028 election," he emphasized.

Additionally, Kwaku Nkansah PaaNii, the 1st Vice Chairman of the NPP, endorsed John Boadu for the position of National Chairman of the NPP, further underscoring the internal dynamics at play as the party prepares for its upcoming electoral challenges.
