Spotify's new Playlist Notes let editors and users explain the story behind every track, right inside the playlist itself.

Spotify’s Playlist Notes makes it easier to add context to your favorite picks

Spotify has introduced Playlist Notes, a feature that allows users and editors to add context to their song, podcast, and audiobook selections within a playlist. This new tool joins other recent enhancements to the platform, such as custom cover art, playlist organization into folders, and seamless track transitions, all aimed at personalizing the listening experience and making playlists feel more individualized.

Playlist Notes permit users to attach a brief remark to any content within a playlist they created or co-created, sharing the inspiration behind a song choice or the impact a podcast episode had on their perspective. Initially rolled out to Free and Premium users aged 16 and above in several countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, the feature will initially be accessible to Spotify editors, who can utilize it to elucidate the reasoning behind their playlist selections, particularly for some of the platform's most popular playlists like Today's Top Hits, RapCaviar, Hot Country, All New Pop, Mint, and Fresh Finds Hip-Hop.

The feature also introduces Editor Profiles, showcasing each editor's favorite tracks, albums, and the playlists they contribute to, offering a personal touch to the curated music selections. Users can access these editor notes by tapping the "Notes" option at the top of select playlists or by tapping an editor's name within an editor's profile.

Additionally, the notes will appear in the "Now Playing" section even if the note was initially added to a different playlist. When adding a note, users must remember that anyone with access to the playlist can view these notes, so discretion is advised regarding the nature of the content shared. Personal playlists featuring Playlist Notes are already available in over 100 markets on iOS and Android devices.

Meanwhile, outside of Spotify, Supreme has unveiled a special-edition JBL Go 5 speaker as part of its Fall/Winter 2026 collection. This collaboration features the speaker in Supreme's iconic red colorway, with a prominent white logo, white controls, and woven JBL branding along with an integrated lanyard. Notably, this edition closely mirrors the existing red JBL Go 5 model, indicating a subtle yet stylish addition to the brand's lineup.

In parallel news, Samsung has partnered with Activision to integrate HDR10+ Gaming into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, supporting a 32:9 aspect ratio for Odyssey G9 owners. This collaboration enhances the gaming experience on Samsung's ultrawide monitors, providing a more expansive field of view during gameplay.
