International Cyclist Completes 1,390 KM Journey from Islamabad to Khunjerab

Polish cyclist Sławomir Strzelczyk has successfully completed a 1,390-kilometer bicycle journey from Islamabad to Khunjerab Pass in Pakistan. The expedition, organized to showcase the strong friendship between Pakistan and Poland, aimed to promote tourism and cultural exchange between the two nations.

Upon completing the grueling journey, Ambassador Maciej Pisarski of the Polish Embassy in Islamabad met with Strzelczyk to celebrate his remarkable achievement. The ambassador praised the expedition for its role in highlighting Pakistan's tourism potential and forging stronger people-to-people ties.

Strzelczyk embarked on the Pakistan-Poland Friendship Cycle Expedition 2026 from Faisal Mosque in Islamabad on July 26. His route took him through a series of picturesque mountain regions and historic locations, including Abbottabad, Besham, Chilas, Gilgit, Hunza, Gulmit, Passu, and Sost. The cyclist traversed the stunning Karakoram mountain landscapes, valleys, and communities, providing a unique perspective on Pakistan's rich cultural diversity and warm hospitality.

Khunjerab Pass, situated on the Pakistan-China border, stands as one of the world's highest international border crossings. The successful completion of Strzelczyk's journey marked the end of an impressive 1,390-kilometer expedition that celebrated the enduring bond between Pakistan and Poland, while simultaneously promoting tourism and fostering cultural understanding between the two nations.
