Revolut ficha en Remitly a su nuevo director general en España

Revolut has announced the appointment of Santiago Pérez Olano as the new general manager of its Spanish subsidiary, as reported by EXPANSION on January 21st. Prior to joining Revolut, Pérez Olano served as the head of Remitly in the Europe, Middle East, and Asia (EMEA) region, where he led the international expansion of the platform for online money transfers in Europe.

Before that, he held senior positions at the online travel technology company Expedia Group, where he led the Marketing & Growth area in EMEA, as well as the Strategic Partnerships department for EMEA and Latin America. Pérez Olano, a graduate of ESADE and London Business School, has spent a significant part of his career between London and New York.

Spain is one of the most dynamic markets in Europe for digital adoption, and there is significant potential for Revolut to further establish itself as the primary bank for millions of customers, according to the director. Revolut has relied on a profile with extensive experience in digitalization, a strong understanding of the online finance ecosystem and digital payments, which are fundamental pillars for the neobank's business in the Spanish market.

The company sought a top executive for its Spanish subsidiary following the departure of Eduardo Pérez Toribio in September 2025. He took on the role in December, with Ignacio del Valle, who was previously the head of the legal area, now serving as Pérez Olano's deputy. The company highlighted that the new head of the Spanish subsidiary will work closely with Ignacio Zunzunegui, Revolut's head of growth for Southern Europe, Latin America, and the United States, to continue expanding the range of products offered in the country.

Pérez Olano's appointment comes at a time of strong expansion for Revolut in Spain, where the bank has surpassed 6.3 million customers and employs over 1,800 people.
