RDA Auctions Two Parking Plazas

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) recently concluded an open auction, awarding three-year contracts for two parking plazas in Raja Bazar. The RDA carried out the auction in accordance with the directives of Rawalpindi Commissioner and RDA Director General Salman Ghani. The properties up for bid included the parking plaza at Fawara Chowk and another plaza situated opposite the Tehsil Office in Rawalpindi.

Director of Estate Management RDA, Iftikhar Ali, presided over the auction committee meeting, attended by Director of Engineering Komal Chaudhry, Deputy Director of Finance Ayesha Badar, Deputy Director of Estate Management Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director of Planning Muhammad Daud, and other officials.

The committee ultimately awarded the Fawara Chowk parking plaza contract to Zabiullah, with an annual rent of Rs. 64.715 million. Conversely, Waseela Enterprises secured the contract for the parking plaza opposite the Tehsil Office for an annual rent of Rs. 4.685 million. The committee scrutinized the bids and concluded the auction by adhering to the prescribed rules and procedures. Furthermore, it approved a 10 percent annual increase in rent for both parking plazas.

These two facilities cater to the bustling areas of Raja Bazar, supplying parking spaces for citizens, shopkeepers, visitors, and commuters alike. The RDA affirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and efficient management of its assets, as well as enhancing property utilization and revenue generation, in line with applicable rules and regulations.
