Ram Temple Donation Theft Case: Champat Rai, Anil Mishra Get Clean Chit From SIT

Lucknow: In a significant development concerning the alleged Ram temple donation theft case, Champat Rai, the former general secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has reportedly received a clean chit from the special investigating team (SIT). Anil Mishra, another former member, also received a clean chit in the case.

The Uttar Pradesh Home Department recently handed over the SIT's final report to the trust for further action. The three-member SIT, headed by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant, was established on June 13 at the trust's request, following the Supreme Court's intervention in the matter. The panel submitted its preliminary report on June 23, presenting several stringent recommendations.

Recently, Rai received a clean chit from the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) after an internal probe and strong support from prominent Ayodhya seers. Rai had resigned as the general secretary on June 26 following allegations regarding the management of donations and offerings at the Ram temple.
