Hanya ‘wayang’ DAP tuntut peruntukan Ahli Parlimen sama rata, kata Wan Saiful

Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the Deputy President of Wawasan, questioned why the Democratic Action Party (DAP) only recently brought up the issue of equally distributing parliamentary allowances. As a Tasik Gelugor MP himself, he also raised doubts about DAP's sincerity in fighting for this cause after three years in power. he asked, "Why are they only doing this now when they were stingy and denied this right to us Perikatan Nasional (PN) representatives for so long?"

In a statement, Wan Saiful emphasized that DAP's desire for an act to guarantee parliamentary allowances is merely a show of good faith, indicating that their true concern is for their own party's interests rather than genuinely caring for the people's welfare. He explained that this newfound interest is driven by their fear of becoming opposition after the 2016 General Election (PRU16), not out of genuine commitment to serve the people.

Wan Saiful asserted that DAP is only seeking a safety net for themselves, not for the benefit of all. Earlier today, DAP Chairman Gobind Singh Deo urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to provide equal parliamentary allowances to all MPs and pass legislation to ensure this provision is permanent. Gobind stressed that DAP has repeatedly communicated Anwar about the Pakatan Harapan (PH) party's promise to ensure all MPs receive equal allowances.

He affirmed that DAP is committed to fulfilling this promise as outlined in PH's election manifesto.
