Hanya ‘wayang’ DAP tuntut peruntukan Ahli Parlimen sama rata, kata Wan Saiful

Wan Saiful Wan Jan, the Deputy President of Wawasan, questioned why the DAP did not raise the issue of equal parliamentary allowances sooner if they were genuinely concerned about the welfare of the people. As a Perikatan Nasional (PN) representative, it seems odd that the party has only now taken up the matter after three years in power.

While this demand is commendable, it appears to be nothing more than a façade, as if the DAP suddenly cares now. They have been greedy and denied parliamentary allowances from us Perikatan Nasional representatives for the past three years.

Wan Saiful pointed out that the desire for a parliamentary allowance act also indicates that the DAP is worried about becoming opposition parties after the 2016 General Election. He suggested that this concern is not rooted in genuine commitment to the welfare of the people but rather in safeguarding the interests of the DAP itself.

The DAP announced their intentions to create a parliamentary allowance act as if they genuinely care about the welfare of the people, but in reality, their concern is solely for the DAP's own interests. They recently demanded a parliamentary allowance act to ensure future safety nets for themselves. Essentially, they only want to create a safety net for themselves.

Earlier today, DAP Secretary Gobind Singh Deo urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to provide equal parliamentary allowances to all MPs and pass legislation to guarantee this provision permanently. Gobind noted that DAP leaders have repeatedly communicated to Anwar about the PH manifesto's promise to ensure equal parliamentary allowances for all MPs. He emphasized that the DAP is committed to fulfilling this promise as outlined in the PH election manifesto.
