Belanjawan 2027 ambil kira beban M40, kata PM

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim announced in the 2027 budget that it will focus on initiatives to reduce the burden on the M40 group, which includes lower-income earners. Speaking to reporters after attending the 2027 Federal Economic Planning Committee session at the Finance Ministry, Anwar stated, "We have a list of things we have prioritized to alleviate the burden on M40."

When asked about the government's efforts to help the M40 group through the 2027 budget, he reiterated that the study and actions related to the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) into the Hajj Trust Fund (TH) are not limited to the specified time frame. The RCI investigation extends before and after the designated reporting period.

He emphasized that there are no obstacles for the authorities to conduct investigations covering the time frame under scrutiny by the RCI. This follows discussions by some National Justice Party (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) MPs to create a new RCI covering the period from 2021 to 2025, as the current RCI only covers from 2014 to 2020.

Anwar, who was also the Finance Minister at the time, highlighted the importance of political stability in ensuring Malaysia remains a trusted investment destination. He noted that political stability is vital for the country's prosperity, as people will not invest if the political environment is unstable. Despite facing criticism for compromise, Anwar maintained that he had choices and would prioritize stability over economic growth.
