Vande Mataram ‘disruption’: Supreme Court advocate’s complaint against Sonia, Rahul Gandhi

An advocate representing the Supreme Court has lodged a complaint against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi following an incident at an Independence Day event. The complaint, submitted by Subh Sharma, alleges that during the performance of the national song 'Vande Mataram', Sonia Gandhi exhibited gestures suggesting a disapproval of the song's continuation.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) disclosed that they are currently investigating the complaint made at the I P Estate Police Station on Sunday. Sharma has requested an investigation and the filing of an FIR against the two leaders. The complaint asserts, "Following the initial section of the National Song, Smt. Sonia Gandhi was observed making gestures and communicating with people, which initially seemed to indicate an objection to the song's continuation."

The complaint also points to a video where Rahul Gandhi is said to have declared, "We are not singing Vande Mataram". The document emphasizes that if these actions are proven, they would not only be a significant disrespect towards 'Vande Mataram', but also demonstrate a severe disregard for the nation's sentiments and constitutional values.
