Lee to host dinner with new DP chair, former leadership contenders

President Lee Jae Myung is organizing a dinner gathering on Wednesday to welcome the newly elected leader of the Democratic Party and two former contenders from the leadership race, according to a statement from the presidential office. The dinner will be held at Cheong Wa Dae, the Korean presidential office, and is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the party, government, and presidential office on matters such as people's well-being and the economy.

The meeting comes just two days after the party's national convention, where Kim Min-seok secured 54.08% of the vote, narrowly edging out Jung Chung-rae with 45.92%.
