The remains of Yevhen Konovalets, a prominent figure in the Ukrainian Nationalist Movement, are set to be reburied in Ukraine after 88 years spent abroad. This news was shared by Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, according to a report by UATV English.

Yevhen Konovalets, who served as the head of the Ukrainian Nationalists Party, Provid, spent decades of his life fighting for an independent Ukraine. President Kyrylo Budanov emphasized that the return of Konovalets' remains to Ukraine is not just a matter of returning a fallen hero, but a symbolic gesture of the ongoing struggle to defend freedom, sovereignty, and the right to be masters of one's own land. He highlighted that the essence of the fight remains the same, with today's defenders carrying on the same battle against the same adversaries.

The temporary reburial of Konovalets in the National Military Memorial Cemetery is a temporary measure, with plans to eventually place his remains in the Ukrainian National Pantheon.
