Kiran Rao pens an emotional note as pet cat dies, son Azad Rao in tears: ‘Our hearts forever’

Actor Aamir Khan, his ex-wife filmmaker Kiran Rao, and their 14-year-old son Azad recently said goodbye to their beloved pet cat Miri. Social media posts revealed several emotional videos of Azad sobbing as the family bid farewell to their furry companion. Now, Kiran Rao has penned a heartfelt note on Instagram for their deceased cat.

In her note, Kiran describes Miri as a cat with a striking, peppery coat who was a skilled hunter. She loved to drink from glasses and even used the elevator to move between floors. Kiran fondly recalled how Miri would happily lie in the sun, stretched out like a queen, and appreciated the gentle scratches and brushing from everyone in the household.

The actress went on to say that Miri's soft, luxurious coat and her playful nature will be cherished forever. After her passing, Miri was laid to rest on the family's farm, surrounded by the soothing sounds of birdsong. Videos of Azad weeping alongside his mother Kiran surfaced after their visit to the hospital to transport Miri's remains.

In July, Aamir Khan married his third wife, Gauri Spratt. Aamir was previously married to Kiran, with whom he shares their son Azad. Aamir's first wife is film producer Reena Dutta, and together they have two children, Junaid and Ira.
