Fake Rs. 13,000 Cash Prize Scam Targeted Citizens on Independence Day

The deceptive messages claim that recipients will receive Rs. 13,000 in cash, enticing them with potentially malicious links. These links could compromise users' personal or financial data if interacted with.

National CERT has issued an advisory, urging citizens to refrain from clicking on suspicious links, providing personal information, or forwarding the fraudulent messages. Instead, users should delete, block, and report them. The National CERT Phish-Radar platform is recommended for verifying suspicious URLs before opening them. Citizens are reminded to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of cash offers, links, and online claims to avoid falling victim to this scam.
