Watch: 3 UAE-based Indian skydivers unfurl tricolour at 13,000ft in world record feat

Three skydivers, born in India but residing in the UAE, achieved a world record during a jump over Benghazi, Libya. Jamsheer Thanalot, Abhishek Rawat, and Isha Raj, along with 65 other participants from around 38 nationalities, unfurled the Indian flag mid-air at an altitude of 13,000 feet. This feat, which took place on August 7, came just in time for India's Independence Day celebrations.

The jump required the skydivers to manage their flags to avoid tangling with parachutes, maintain a safe distance from other jumpers, and land within a specific camera-covered area to be considered for the Guinness World Records title. Jamsheer, who has completed over 320 jumps, expressed his pride in representing India at this international event, acknowledging the rigorous training and preparation required.

The skydivers were selected through a series of training and qualification jumps, with Jamsheer having warned his wife that he might not make the final cut due to the demanding nature of the process.
