Vande Mataram row: Shah takes 'sin' jibe at Sonia; Cong says 'diverting attention'

On the eve of Independence Day, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of demanding an apology from Sonia Gandhi in order to divert attention from the government's failures. Ramesh criticized Shah, stating that he had previously insulted Dr. Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha, refused to hoist the tricolour at the party headquarters before 2002, and was responsible for the Delhi Police's brutal treatment of peaceful protesters.
