Trump posts photo with NK leader Kim, says he, Kim 'get along great'

U.S. President Donald Trump shared a photo on Saturday showing his meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in the Panmunjom border village in 2019. In the caption, Trump stated that he and Kim have a great rapport. This comes as the White House maintains that Trump is open to discussing with Kim without any preconditions. However, it is unclear whether North Korea will accept an invitation to talks given the increasing economic, diplomatic and military collaboration between Pyongyang and Moscow.

Despite the serious expression on this specific image, Trump noted that there are numerous photos where he and Kim are smiling, emphasizing their great friendship. President Trump had three face-to-face meetings with Kim during his first term: the initial encounter in Singapore in June 2018, the subsequent one in Hanoi in February 2019, and the Panmunjom meeting in June 2019.

The third summit gained global attention as Trump briefly entered North Korean territory by crossing the Military Demarcation Line with Kim, marking the first time a U.S. president had done so. In June, Trump also posted on Truth Social about his meetings with Kim.
