Secondus congratulates Adeleke, says Osun victory reflects people’s trust

Prince Uche Secondus, the former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, has warmly congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his successful re-election. Secondus views the triumph as a clear indication of the people's unwavering trust in Adeleke's leadership. The message came after the Independent National Electoral Commission officially declared Adeleke the winner of the August 15 Osun governorship election.

Secondus emphasized that Adeleke's victory transcended the gains of his political party, signifying the electorate's faith and confidence in his leadership capabilities. He lauded Adeleke's resilience, dedication, and deep connection with the people, affirming that the voice of the electorate will always prevail. The governor, representing the Accord Party, secured 511,067 votes, outpacing his closest rival Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes.

Adeleke triumphed in 19 out of Osun's 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won in 11. Across the nation, political figures have lauded the voters for participating in the democratic process and urged Adeleke to utilize his second term to focus on sustainable development, human capital growth, and economic revitalization for all residents across the state.
