PKR perlu bina generasi pemimpin baharu selepas Anwar, kata Zaliha

PKR deputy president Zaliha Mustafa urged the party to start building a new generation of leaders following the era of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. She emphasized that it's not enough to wait for Anwar to resign before finding a successor; the process of identifying and nurturing leadership talent must begin immediately. "When I ask who will succeed Anwar, I'm not simply looking for one name.

I want us to build a generation of leaders," she stated during the PKR National Congress in Melaka. According to her, PKR needs to be bold in envisioning the future of leadership after Anwar achieves his reformist goals of governing the nation. This approach aligns with the party's reform principles, including limiting the tenure of prime ministers to 10 years.

She added that while expecting the prime minister to have a limit, PKR must also think far ahead about the leadership layers of the nation and party. She cautioned against waiting for the moment Anwar decides to step down, and then scrambling to find someone ready. By then, it would be too late. PKR should identify new potential, train and mentor, and hold them accountable so their leadership talent can grow from the grassroots level.

She stressed that this process should not begin today but should have started 20 years ago. However, it's never too late to start.
