India's global partners, including France, Russia, Australia, Maldives and others, extended greetings to the nation on its 80th Independence Day on Saturday. French President Emmanuel Macron, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu were among the leaders who congratulated India.

Macron took to social media to express his congratulations, stating that he hopes the ties between India and France will continue to thrive. Putin greeted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, expressing confidence that their partnership will enhance international security and stability. He emphasized that Russia and India are engaged in fruitful cooperation across various areas and coordinate closely within multilateral institutions.

Australian Prime Minister Albanese praised India's growth and potential, recalling his recent meeting with Modi. He expressed excitement about deepening Australia-India engagement in new areas, supported by the Indian community in Australia. Maldivian President Muizzu reaffirmed his country's commitment to strengthening ties with India, highlighting the shared aspirations and resilience between the two nations.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog wished India's leaders and people a happy Independence Day, expressing hope for strengthening friendship between Israel and India.

Singapore's President Tharman Shanmugaratnam congratulated India on the occasion, emphasizing the enduring interest of both countries in a peaceful, open, and connected region. He highlighted the multifaceted Singapore-India relationship, encompassing trade, digital economy, energy security, and the energy transition. Nepal's Prime Minister Balendra Shah and Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay extended heartfelt greetings to India, expressing the wish for continued strengthening of historical ties and close people-to-people relations.

Former Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih praised India's journey since 1947 as an inspiration to developing countries, hoping that the ties between Maldives and India will grow stronger. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also congratulated India, crediting the strong bilateral ties to the personal relationship between former US President Donald Trump and Modi.
