Pakistan drop Diana Baig for Asia Cup and Asian Games

KUALA LUMPUR, AUG 16 — Singapore-based board game designer Daryl Chow founded Play Play Asia, a team dedicated to showcasing tabletop games and creators from across Asia. After organizing Asian board game festivals and appearing at events like All Aboard 2026, Play Play Asia has now opened its first permanent store and lounge at GMBB Kuala Lumpur. The space serves as a retail outlet for tabletop games from Asia and as a place for visitors to learn, connect, and grow the region's gaming community.

Chow likened the store's opening to his Asian board game festivals, but in a more permanent setting. He aims to create a gallery and showcase for game makers to collaborate and help grow the region's tabletop gaming community. Many talented Asian designers lack marketing resources and visibility, which inspired the creation of Play Play Asia and its permanent store.

Located within GMBB Kuala Lumpur, known for its creative atmosphere, the store opened its doors on August 15. It currently houses hundreds of games from countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, the Philippines, South Korea, China, and Indonesia. Visitors can discover tabletop games from across Asia under one roof, with titles like Nasi Lemak The Game, Folded Wishes, Name It! Dog Edition, and Inconversible: Dawn Erasing already available.

Play Play Asia plans to host regular events, workshops, showcases, playtesting sessions, and RPG sessions to maintain an active and engaging environment. Additionally, there are plans to open a second store in Bangkok, Thailand, though this is still in its early stages. For now, the Kuala Lumpur store is open Monday through Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm.
