Obi, Saraki congratulate Adeleke on re-election

Nigerian presidential hopeful Peter Obi and ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki have expressed their congratulations to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election. Adeleke secured victory in Saturday's gubernatorial election, as confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday. With over 511,000 votes, Adeleke emerged victorious according to Prof Joshua Ogunwole, the State Returning Officer.

Obi took to his social media platform to congratulate Adeleke, emphasizing the significance of the democratic process. He stated, "I warmly congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election and the good people of Osun State on this important democratic victory. They have spoken with courage and clarity, reaffirming that the power to choose their leaders belongs to the people."

Obi urged Nigerians to actively participate in the 2027 general elections and protect their votes, calling on political actors to prioritize people's interests and uphold the rule of law.

Former Senate President Saraki also congratulated Adeleke, describing his re-election as a vote of confidence in his administration. He stated, "I congratulate my dear brother and friend, Governor Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election as Governor of Osun State." Saraki commended the residents of Osun for voting and remaining vigilant in safeguarding their democratic rights.

He emphasized the importance of every election where the will of the people is freely expressed and faithfully counted, urging Adeleke to utilize his second term to build upon the achievements of his administration.
