Nurul Izzah urges continuous reform within PKR and government

Deputy president of the People's Justice Party (PKR), Nurul Izzah Anwar, has urged for ongoing reform within both the party and the government. She emphasized that the party's struggle, which originated from the reform movement, should not conclude upon assuming governmental power, but rather persist as a legacy for future generations. Nurul Izzah stressed that party members must continue to foster reform continuously while in office.

She cited the termination of the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971 as an example of PKR's successful advocacy, now achieved through governmental authority. Nurul Izzah urged the party to translate the Madani Government's robust economic growth into tangible benefits for the populace. These benefits include enhanced employment prospects, expanded opportunities for small and medium enterprises, and an expanded scope for women and youth to engage in the mainstream economy.

Nurul Izzah recommended that structural reforms persist to ensure a fairer salary structure and wage rates commensurate with productivity. She cautioned PKR leaders against perceiving power as personal property, instead urging them to regard it as a trust that must be safeguarded. She reminded them that positions change, titles fade, and names may be forgotten, but the work they leave behind and the values they uphold will endure.
