Jalaluddin leaves fate as Negri Sembilan Umno chief to Zahid

JELEBU: Jalaluddin Alias has submitted the matter of whether he should continue as Negri Sembilan Umno liaison committee chairman to Umno president Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. The Pertang assemblyman is prepared to accept whatever decision Dr Zahid makes. While there have been instances in multiple states where the state Umno chairman did not align with the Menteri Besar, the final decision rests with the Umno president.

Dr Jalaluddin stated that the timing of the announcement, whether at the Umno Supreme Council meeting or otherwise, is at the president's discretion. He reiterated that he has no objection either way regarding his position. Later, Negri Sembilan's Legislative Assembly is scheduled to discuss the RM1.3 billion reserves claimed by the state government, raising questions and being used in campaign rhetoric.

Dr Jalaluddin plans to address the issue personally during the session to seek clarification on the reserves' actual status. The session is also attracting significant attention from the public as the state government has been taken over by Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional from Pakatan Harapan.
