Jacquet scores on Liverpool debut in friendly win over Como

Defender Jeremy Jacquet registered his first goal on his Liverpool debut during a 2-0 pre-season friendly win over Serie A side Como at Anfield on Sunday. The 21-year-old Frenchman joined Liverpool from Como in January for a reported £60 million ($81 million), but a persistent knee injury had sidelined him until the arrival of Cesc Fabregas's Como.

In his first appearance for Liverpool, the centre-back demonstrated impressive defensive skills, making timely challenges and ultimately scoring a tap-in from Cody Gakpo's cross in the 44th minute, giving the Merseysiders the lead. At halftime, 21-year-old Ronald Araujo replaced Jacquet, who had made his debut.
