Islamabad's Green Enclave-I plot owners announce protests

ISLAMABAD: Allottees of the long-awaited Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) project in Green Enclave-I have announced plans to stage protests against repeated empty assurances from officials. The decision was made after a meeting of the Core Committee of Green Enclave-I allottees, who expressed deep frustration at the failure to deliver on commitments made by senior FGEHA officials.

The first demonstration will take place in the final week of August in front of the FGEHA headquarters. The allottees said they would initially focus demonstrations outside the authority's offices but could later expand to other key locations if their demands remain unmet. This follows a prior protest staged by the allottees on June 11, 2026, after which senior FGEHA officials had promised to refer the matter to the executive board, only for the promised action to never materialize.

Chaudhry Amjad Ali, leader of the Green Enclave-I allottees, reiterated their disappointment at the lack of progress despite repeated promises. The allottees have now decided that further waiting without concrete action is no longer acceptable. They will launch a series of protests until their demands for immediate action on pending executive board approval, resumption of infrastructure development, and a clear time-bound schedule for completion are met.
