Iran offers US$30,000 bounty for killing, capturing US soldiers

Iranian military chief Amir Hatami announced on Sunday that his country is offering a $30,000 bounty for killing or capturing US soldiers, with rewards doubled for women. Hatami made the announcement via the IRNA state news agency, stating that the plan was motivated by numerous requests for financial support. There has been no recorded deployment of US ground forces in Iran during the ongoing Middle East conflict, except for a rescue mission in April for a downed American pilot.

Hatami provided no specifics on the location or timing of the targeted killings or captures. Anyone who eliminates or apprehends and delivers an invading American military personnel will receive a reward of $30,000, or 5 billion Iranian tomans, from Iran's Army. Additionally, courageous Iranian women who perform such an act will receive double the reward.

The Iran-US conflict escalated on February 28 following a joint US-Israeli attack on Iran, followed by a ceasefire in April after approximately 40 days of fighting. A framework for peace talks was later established but ultimately failed. Since then, sporadic skirmishes have occurred, primarily in southern Iran and near the Strait of Hormuz.
