Iran offers $30,000 bounty for killing US soldiers

Tehran's military has announced a $30,000 bounty, or 5 billion tomans, for killing or capturing US soldiers, with the reward doubled for women. This plan was devised following numerous requests for financial support, according to the IRNA state news agency. Army chief Amir Hatami made the announcement. There has been no known deployment of US ground forces in Iran during the ongoing Middle East war.

Hatami did not specify where or when the killings or captures were to occur. Anyone who successfully kills or captures and hands over an invading American military personnel will receive the $30,000 reward. Iranian women who carry out such actions will receive double the reward. The war between Iran and the US began on February 28 after the United States, along with Israel, attacked Iran.

It was followed by a ceasefire in April after nearly 40 days of fighting, and a peace talks framework that later collapsed. Since then, Iran and the US have traded sporadic fire, mainly centered in southern Iran and around the Strait of Hormuz.
