Il Veneto è un set, a Bibione si cercano comparse

Il Veneto is becoming an increasingly sought-after set for new Italian and international film productions due to the calls launched by the Veneto Region and support from the Veneto Film Commission. This time, the spotlight is on Bibione, in the Veneto region.

After a thorough analysis and comparison with the municipal offices of San Michele al Tagliamento, the picturesque location was chosen by director Clément Cogitore as the ideal backdrop for his upcoming film "Rivo Alto," produced by Kino Produzioni. The story revolves around the founding of Venice during the 6th century AD, and filming will take place in October, specifically in one of Bibione's most captivating natural areas.

In the coming days, the town will host a casting for the film, aimed at individuals interested in acting alongside the main cast. The casting, organized by Mira Project Movie, will take place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Polivalente Hall of the Communal Delegation in Bibione. Both generic and special roles are sought, with actors ranging from 18 to 75 years old, preferably from nearby geographical areas with a natural appearance (no visible piercings, tattoos, false eyebrows, or unnatural hairstyles).

Availability for multiple days in October, potentially extending to several weeks, is appreciated. Particular interest is shown towards people experienced in fishing, agricultural work, or animal care. Children aged 6 to 12, with a small stature and not afraid of nature or domestic animals, are also sought after. All minors must be accompanied by a parent.

Bibione is one of the locations listed in the Veneto Film Commission's guide. However, Cadore has lost "A Step from Heaven," which will not have a ninth season. The decision to bring "Rivo Alto" to Bibione was officially announced by Rai at the beginning of July, a move anticipated by the absence of production crews in the series' locations in San Vito since early July.

This marks the end of a 15-year presence, linked to one of the state broadcaster's most successful transmissions, which generated a significant economic flow through production expenses and induced tourism, both in Alto Adige (for the first five seasons) and Belluno. The fallout of film and TV productions also affects employment: in Veneto, the positive balance of dependent private work positions for the January-July 2026 period was +79,600, with an increase in demand for work (+2%) and contract terminations (+3%).

These dynamics are likewise influenced by the marked increase in short-term production work relationships.
